If you’ve ever been to Disney World, you know this vacation is no walk in the park. (Oh yeah. Pun TOtally intended.) It can be an exhausting trip if you don’t make careful plans to work in some down time. I think the key to having a great Disney vacation is to not overdo it. Disney is massive, and you WILL NOT do it all while you’re there. *gasp* Might as well go ahead and plan some relaxation between park visits. Wait! I didn’t say it couldn’t be fun. One of the best ways to relax and re-energize at the same time is to take advantage of the Disney resort pools. They are some of the best anywhere! They’re perfect for the heat of the day. When others are sweating…um, I mean standing…in line for rides, you can be practicing your underwater handstand. I understand the feeling of wanting to get in all the rides and shows, but believe me, your family and your feet will thank you.
Here are some benefits to taking time for a swim at the hotel…
1. No standing in line at the pool. No one ducking under chains in front of you. No FastPass needed. Immediate attraction satisfaction.
2. You can multitask. Swim and tan. Swim and watch a movie. Swim and exercise. Swim and relax. Swim and make memories.
3. You don’t have to wait for transportation to take you back to your hotel when you are finished. Just grab a towel (provided poolside) and start walking.
4.Two words…HOT TUB! Good for tired, aching, muscles.
5. When you exit the pool, you don’t suddenly find yourself in a giftshop tempted to buy souvenirs.
Check out the scenery at Wilderness Lodge.
And here is one of my favorite pools of Disney…Bay Lake Tower. Check out the slide located to the right of the pool in the picture below. The DisKids loved it!
